Robe chosen for MIDEM Showcase

29 March 2011

Robe ROBIN 300 Spots and ColorWash 700E ATs were specified by lighting designer Patrice Burle for a showcase gig staged at the Martinez Hotel during the MIDEM 2011 (Marché international de l'édition musicale) conference and exhibition in Cannes, France.

The high profile gig was attended by lots of VIPs, record company talent scouts and A&R executives, and was one of THE events to be seen at for anyone attending MIDEM.

It highlighted several up-and-coming young bands including Gisbranco and Monarchy, and this particular MIDEM live showcase at the Martinez has been a springboard for the launch of many band's international careers in the past! Patrice Burle has also lit the event for the preceding 2 years and knows the importance of good production values.

Lighting equipment was supplied by Concept Evènement.

Patrice Burle has been using Robe products for about 4 years on numerous concerts, shows and events and likes the brightness, the CMY colour mixing and the general aesthetics of these moving lights. He also finds that the wide Robe range offers a fixture for almost ever application, size and shape of venue.

The ROBIN 300 Spots were a perfect size for the venue's small stage and low ceiling height, while the brightness of the ColorWash 700s had a massive impact. Lighting was operated by Marc Peruga using a grandMA full size console.
