Leading Australian TV lighting director Grant Wilson from Strauss Productions specified 12 of Robe’s new ROBIN 300 LEDWash moving lights to help illuminate sets for some of the major ‘offsite location challenges’ involved in the latest series of popular Seven Network reality TV series, ‘Beauty and The Geek Australia’.

The show, billed as “Australia’s ultimate social experiment” pairs together ‘beauties’ who have relied primarily on their looks, with ‘geeks’ who are better equipped with intellect rather than social aptitude, who compete in teams for up to $AUD 100,000 prize money.

The LEDWashes were a major element of Grant’s design and were also used for events staged in the main ‘house location’ where the beauties and geeks reside for the duration of the series – or until they are eliminated!

The ROBIN 300 LEDWash is the smallest in Robe’s current hugely popular LEDWash moving head range, which has been a best seller in almost every lighting discipline. It is particularly popular for TV shows and studio environments with its instantly selectable range of ‘proper’ whites – varying between 3200, 4300 and 5600°K - smooth and versatile full-spectrum colour mixing, homogenised lightsource and low heat emissions.

The ROBIN 300 LEDWash utilises 19 Cree multichip LEDs and also has a very flexible motorised linear zoom of 15 – 60 degrees.

The fixtures were supplied to Strauss Productions by Event Services based in Galston NSW, whose Colin Baldwin comments, “The LEDWash 300 is a great little moving light with a big personality, and ideal for any type of event”.

Beauty and The Geek Australia’s third series  is broadcast nationally every Thursday evening, drawing top ratings and an impressive audience in excess of a million every time!

Grant will also be specifying Robe LEDWashes on some of his other upcoming projects including ‘The Biggest Loser’, ‘Farmer Wants A Wife’, ‘My Kitchen Rules’ and ‘Magical Tales’.
