Robe has appointed Diogens Audio Ltd as it’s new Latvian distributor. The Balvi-based company deals in professioanl audio and lighting sales and rental to all areas of the burgeoning Latvian entertainment and leisure industry.
Diogens Audio was founded in 1995 by Ilgonis Punculs and Girts Teilans, who are both still actively involved in the day-to-day running of the company.
The pair met back in 1986, when they were running discos and organising small events and shows. At that time, Latvia was still under the control of the USSR, so no business ventures were possible in this area.
When Latvia gained its independence in 1991, things moved forward quickly and the economic opportunities soon improved. The company started trading with their own-built sound equipment and some simple lighting gear .... but with big ambitions and enormous enthusiasm!
Today Diogens Audio is one of Latvia’s leading sales and rental companies. The Robe dealership will really boost the sales side of the business, as well as strengthen the capacity of the hire stock and ensure that the Robe brand is also specified across a broad range of installations. “We are really excitied to have such a quality brand as Robe on board” states Punculs “We are very confident about the future, and this move will ensure we remain the top sales company in Latvia”.
Diogens Audio now has a substantial warehouse and a large showroom for demonstrating all types of sound and lighting equipment. Running alongside the busy sales arm of the company, is a design, installation and service department, active in areas like clubs, restaurants and bars, sports halls, etc. In fact, Latvia’s trendiest clubs - like Voodoo, Multiklubs, Relax and many others – have already been kitted out with Robe scanners and moving heads via Diogens.
The rental department has supplied equipment to thousands of events over the years – from music and town festivals to folk and dance extravaganzas to pop concerts and corporate launches and parties – all across Latvia. They are also still involved in the organisation and running of music festivals and concerts.
In all areas of Diogens’ business, the bottom line is promoting the highest technical production values, service and products.
