Robe Lighting France delivered its first Robe Awards event, a new design / programming / operating competition which saw 10 finalists – whittled down from over 160 initial entrants – to battle it out in person at Les Studios de la Montjoie in the La Plaine St Denis area near Paris … where they utilised a full Robe lighting rig.
North America’s National Hockey League (NHL) spectacularly returned to play – without live audiences but with massive enthusiasm, determination and impressive TV and online followings – for the 2020 Stanley Cup playoff series which had been suspended in April during the Coronavirus pandemic.
On 22nd June 2020, over 9000 buildings, monuments, cultural sites and spaces plus other objects were illuminated in “Emergency Red” by over 8300 participating companies – primarily in Germany – for #NightofLight2020 in what was arguably the largest ever collective lighting ‘direct action’ campaign to date.
Robe played a major role in delivering another stunning lighting design for the Total Production International (TPi) Awards, produced by TPi Magazine, part of Mondiale Media, an annual event to honour some of the best creative and technical achievements in the world of live entertainment for the preceding 12 months.
Mateusz Karon, deputy of technical manager the Teatr Dramatyczny m. st. Warszawy (Dramatic Theater of the capital city of Warsaw), is very happy with the new Robe Tarrantulas – the most powerful of the current LED wash beam range – that are part of the house lighting rig for this important venue, which has been at the forefront of producing Polish drama since 1949 and ensconced in the Palace of Culture and Science venue since 1955.
Robe rocked one of its busiest and most dynamic LDI (Lighting Design International) expos to date in Las Vegas, winning two awards, one for Best Creative Use of Light and the other for the T1 product series.
The famous Polish State Folk Group of Song and Dance 'Mazowsze' is named after the Mazowsze region of Poland.
Inspired by the launch of its new PLASA Innovation Award-winning ESPRITE moving light with fully replaceable LED engine and a host of other ground-breaking features and the iconic Back to The Future movie franchise … Robe presented the first in a new trilogy of expo live performance concepts at the PLASA 2019 expo in London.
Leading Italian lighting and visuals designer Giovanni Pinna came hot off Vasco Rossi’s Non Stop Live 2019 stadium tour and straight into the Opening Ceremony of the 2019 Summer Universiade – World University Games – event, staged at the Stadio San Paolo, Naples and produced by Balich Worldwide Shows (BWS).
